Tu's Place was established by Ratu (Tu) and Ian in 2005. Tu's family roots are with Tamusua Village in the beautiful Yasawa Island and Narewa Village in Nadi while Ian is a Kiwi.
The restaurant takes pride in using using local ingredients, supporting the local cottage industries as much as possible. The extensive menu features a number of locally inspired dishes for those wanting to experience Fijian cuisine. The cooks in the restaurant have all been trained on the premises by Tu - another outcome Ian and Tu were seeking - to create employment opportunities for local people.
Come with hungry tummy: the chefs at this popular spot aren't shy when it comes to portion control. Though they do Western-style breakfasts and some tasty Thai meals, the focus here is on Fijian cuisine, especially seafood: this is a great place to try kokoda (raw fish marinated in lemon juice and served in coconut milk). Try to squeeze in some vakalavalava (baked cassava pudding) for dessert.
