AN EXHIBITION ON BIRDS
"Since the dawn of time this" younger brother of angels "accompanies our daily lives. In Egyptian mythology, the bird is an element of the soul "bai". A celestial animal par excellence, it often represents our highest aspirations, our spiritual part. Socrates likens this search for interiority to an "itchy wings", thus referring to the flight of the bird. Capable of detaching from the material to rise, the bird evokes purity in many cultures. It is also a symbol of lucidity, its visual acuity being particularly developed especially in nocturnal birds.
Apart from some ominous birds such as ravens and vultures, many beliefs associate this animal with hope: its song, its flight, its appearance evoke a sign from heaven or ancestors and provide an answer to questions related to our human condition.
Our plastic research is articulated around the symbolism of the bird and is concretized by the creation of images destined to provoke questions on our experience, our relation to the world.
